The Department of Science and Technology – Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) invites the public, especially displaced workers and those who would like to venture into business, to avail of the its livelihood training programs.
“We have training programs that could help put up businesses using small equipment and not so big investment,” ITDI Director Anabelle Briones said in a recent media briefing.
Those who already have businesses related to food and packaging could also avail of the ITDI’s training programs. Likewise, the public could also connect with the ITDI if they need research, as the agency could conduct it for them, she added.
Briones said micro, small and medium enterprises related to food processing could use the ITDI facility in Bicutan City. “The ITDI offers seminars that would help exporters verify the product safety,” she shared.
The ITDI chief added they have partnered with private laboratories.
“Because not all that they would need could be found in just one facility, we have what we call the DOST One Lab. We could refer them (MSMEs) through the system,” she said.
Briones, meanwhile also urges prospective adopters to adopt ITDI-developed products for commercialization. She said the agency has developed several ready-to-eat products.
“Those who might want to adopt and sell these would only need to pay a minimal licensing fee,” she concluded.(PNA)
