July 31, 2026 | Baguio City – The Climate Change Task Force (CCTF) leads a unified environmental action today with Oplan Linis Kalikasan, a joint cleanup and stewardship activity held at the iconic Mines View Park, in partnership with the Baguio City Government and its allied command units.
This collective initiative brings together the Science and Technology for Environmental Progress Command (STEP), Environmental Protection and Enforcement Command (EPEC), Reforestation and Biodiversity Command (RB), and Industrial Environmental Safety & Pollution Control Command to advance environmental protection, proper waste management, and climate action at one of Baguio’s most visited public spaces.
The program opened with an invocation led by DCom Van Ardhy Arciaga, followed by the singing of the National Anthem headed by DCom Mark Dela Cruz. SDCom Col. Jerito Adigue delivered welcome remarks, while messages of support were conveyed by SDCom Clef Gonadan and SDCom Audie Buendia, affirming the task force’s resolve to prioritize community-led environmental sustainability.
Activity proceedings included a walkthrough of objectives and safety protocols, the actual park cleanup, and reading of official General Orders by SDCom Richard Nixon Gomez.
“Oplan Linis Kalikasan is more than a cleanup drive: it is a testament to our shared duty to safeguard our ecosystems for future generations,” the CCTF stated. “Through unified coordination, volunteerism, and strong partnerships with local government and communities, we turn climate commitments into tangible action.”
The activity aims to leave Mines View Park cleaner and more sustainable, strengthen inter-command collaboration, raise public awareness on environmental care, and forge lasting partnerships between the CCTF, Baguio City Government, and local civil society groups. It also seeks to establish a replicable model for future joint environmental initiatives across the region.
