Angeles City to fog, mist in public schools

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – The Angeles City government here will conduct fogging and misting operations in all its 53 public schools to ensure the safety of children against dengue once classes for school year 2022 to 2023 starts.

Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said the operations will start on August 1, coinciding with the “Brigada Eskwela” of the Department of Education.

“It is our utmost priority to safeguard the health of every Angeleño, especially our kids. As we all know, rainy season ngayon at may pandemya pa rin po (now and there is still also a pandemic),” Lazatin said in a statement.

Angeles City Economic Development Investment Promotions Office chief Irish Bonus has been preparing the schedule for fogging and misting while Executive assistant IV Reina Manuel ensures that logistics are readily available.

Members of the City Health Office Sanitation Division will conduct the fogging and misting in every public school.

Manuel will supervise the Anti-Dengue Task Force. ”This   move of the city government is the initiative of Mayor Lazatin to contain the dengue-carrying mosquitoes and prevent them from further breeding,” he stressed.

Isikiel Kim, a member of the misting and fogging team said apart from the fumigation, the city government will likewise conduct the 4S strategy against dengue — search and destroy,  self-protection measures, seek early consultation, and say yes to fogging against dengue.

Before the fumigation in public schools, fogging and misting will also be undertaken in the 33 barangays of the city. (PNA)
