ZAMBOANGA CITY – City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar here has appealed to all city government workers to submit themselves for vaccination.
Salazar said a total of 489,068 city residents have already received their second vaccine dose or are fully vaccinated. The figure represents 70.40% of the 694,696 target eligible local population. The vaccination program started March 2021.
“It (the vaccination) has been proven to lower serious and critical cases of Covid-19,” Salazar said. “Let us be courageous, let us not be fearful, let us get vaccinated.” She, however, did not disclose how many of the city’s nearly 3,000 employees remain unvaccinated.
The city government here now also pursues its vaccine boosters to frontline workers and senior citizens.
