Pope Leo to youth: Sex must not become entertainment

VATICAN CITY – Sex must not become a form of entertainment, Pope Leo XIV said during an audience on Tuesday with a group of young French catechumens who are in Rome for the Jubilee of Youth.

The American pontiff stressed the importance of “renouncing a culture of death that is so widespread in our society.”

“This culture of death is manifested today in indifference, in contempt for others, in drugs, in the search for an easy life, in sexuality that becomes entertainment and the objectification of the human person, in injustice,” Leo said.

“The catechumenate is a journey of faith that does not end with baptism, but continues throughout life, with moments of joy and difficulty,” he added. (ANSA)
