The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has recently opened its first Bakuna Center in Mindanao at the Lanao Chung Hua School. The PRC Iligan Chapter runs the center.

The PRC Bakuna Center vaccinated 244 persons during its first day of operations. It targets to vaccinate some 694 individuals from the A3 and A4 priority groups this week. It is duly accredited by the Department of Health.

In a statement, PRC Chairman and CEO Senator Richard Gordon said “The Red Cross will be there where we are needed. Our goal is to vaccinate as many as we can especially since our country now has lower vaccine hesitancy.”

“We want to protect every Filipino from Covid-19,” he added. Red Cross staff and volunteers plan to administer privately procured 1,390 doses of the Sinovac vaccine in the coming weeks.

The PRC has vaccinated over 28,000 individuals as of July 13, 2021, and has plans to establish Bakuna Centers in Zamboanga City, Davao City, Misamis Oriental, and Cagayan de Oro in the coming weeks.
