Senator Sherwin Gatchalian

LEGAZPI CITY – Senator Sherwin Gatchalian has recently dismissed speculations that the presidential and local elections in May next year may be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Responding to a question from media reporters in a press conference here, Gatchalian assured “there would be zero possibility of a no election scenario” on account of the  pandemic.

Gatchalian, who chairs the Senate Committee on Basic Education, said that under normal circumstances, some 75% of voters casts their votes, but due to the pandemic the number could possibly drop.

Together with Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Alfredo Garbin, Gatchalian visited the Bicol University (BU) campus in this city for a joint project, a two-story dormitory.
