SUAL, Pangasinan – This town has kept out outsider tourists from its beaches as a precaution against Covid-19 virus transmission.
Sual Mayor Liseldo Calugay, in his Executive Order No. 12 issued on Monday, said the closure has become a must in the light of the increased number of confirmed Covid-19 cases recorded in various towns and cities of the province.
“There is a need to prevent local transmission of the Covid-19 virus to protect the townspeople,” he said, even as he allows local residents in all the tourist spots and tourism related-establishments in the municipality.
Sual town is known for its white-sand beaches and has become even more popular as one of its tourist spots, the Bagbag beach, dubbed by netizens as the Little Batanes of Pangasinan, trended online last year.
