Tarlac BHWs, medical front-liners get vaccinated first

TARLAC CITY – Barangay health workers and medical front-liners in this city were first beneficiaries as the local government started its Covid-19 vaccination roll out Thursday.

City Mayor Cristy Angeles said some 1,086 vials of AstraZeneca vaccines were provided by the Department of Health to the city for medical workers. One vial is good for at least 10 full doses.

Angeles said the inoculation of the medical front-liners from the City Health Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and barangay health workers is targeted to finish within three days.

“Everyone is encouraged to join Bida Bakunation because this is the solution to the pandemic. Let’s trust our doctors, government  and experts who examine it,” the mayor said in her official social media post. It was not immediately known how many Tarlacquenos will be served by the initial batch of vaccines delivered.

Mayor Angeles also reminded Tarlacquenos to strictly observe health protocols to avoid the spread of the virus. “Once again, everyone is reminded to be careful, be disciplined, and continue to follow health and safety protocols,” she said.

Tarlac province has recorded nearly 2,500  confirmed Covid-19 cases currently with over 2,250 active cases.
