The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) takes pride in its volunteers who, it points out, “are always first, ready, and willing to reach out to serve no matter what the circumstances are.”

PRC, the country’s premier humanitarian organization highlighted the unwavering commitment of its volunteers as its recent International Volunteer Day last Sunday to bring hope in the form of countless acts of kindness.

For over 74 years, PRC volunteers have continuously dedicated their time and efforts to ensure the inclusion of those often left behind.

“We have always been at the forefront of providing quality life-saving services that protect life and dignity especially of indigent Filipinos in vulnerable situations,” the PRC said in a statement.

The PRC also paid tribute to the courage and drive of Covid-19 response heroes. “Our volunteers have been working hard every single day through the many ongoing programs of the PRC toward Covid-19 response,” it added.

From testing, deploying negative pressure ambulances, setting up isolation facilities, emergency field hospitals, and medical tents, to providing convalescent plasma in blood centers and the vaccination program, the Covid-19 response of the PRC has helped save millions of lives.

“Your efforts will not go unnoticed. The initiatives of the Red Cross have brought about a significant change as the whole country battles the pandemic. No matter what happens, we will continue to keep kindness alive, uplift people’s dignity, and empower communities,”  ,”  PRC stressed.
