More than 425,000 individuals have already received their second Covid-19 vaccine booster shots.
Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said almost 14.5 million individuals have an up-to-date vaccination or have received their first booster shot while 69.7 million are fully vaccinated as of June 9.
“We have already almost 9.4 million fully inoculated adolescents along with more than three million children fully vaccinated,” she said in an online media forum.
Records show that the country has seen a slight increase in Covid-19 cases for the week of June 2 to 8 at 197 which is 9% higher than the 180 cases logged the previous week.
Vergeire said the slight increase “is not observed to be sustained” but the national positivity rate increased to 1.3%. “Nationally, we remain under low-risk classification with positive one-week and two-week growth rates since May 25. Despite increase in cases, the daily attack rate remains at less than one case per 100,000 population,” she pointed out.
Records show that presently, national hospital admissions are on a plateau with a slight increase of 268 admissions or 6% from 4,820 to 5,080.
Total bed utilization slightly increased by 1% while intensive care unit utilization is on a plateau at 16%, a low-risk category figure.
