JAKARTA – Indonesian Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said he is optimistic ASEAN will become an epicenter of growth, as envisioned by Indonesia, which chairs the ASEAN regional group this year.
Hadimuljono said the just concluded ASEAN Summit was not merely a ceremonial event. “We believe it will create more concrete actions, and ASEAN will be an epicenter of growth,” he said in a statement.
The Indonesia official also expressed hope that all cooperation forged between and among ASEAN member states will have concrete impact, thereby helping realize the theme of Indonesia’s chairmanship, “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth.”
Hadimuljono has been made in-charge of the summit’s organization and logistics, as per Presidential Decision No. 5 of 2023 on the 2023 ASEAN chairmanship national committee. He said they also did weather modification operations initiatives to help ensure inclement weather will not disrupt the summit’s activities. (Antara)
