Bulacan shines at 2025 Gitnang Luzon Gawad Parangal sa Nutrisyon

CITY OF MALOLOS — The Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) once again proved its steadfast commitment to promoting health and nutrition as it earned top recognitions during the 2025 Gitnang Luzon Gawad Parangal sa Nutrisyon held at Best Western Plus Metro Clark, Angeles City, last November 7, 2025.

Organized by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region III, the annual event celebrated the inspiring stories of dedication, collaboration, and success of nutrition advocates and local government units that continue to champion health and nutrition across the region.

Leading the province’s awardees was Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office Head Rowena J. Tiongson, who was named Outstanding Provincial Nutrition Action Officer for her outstanding leadership and dedication to advancing effective nutrition programs in Bulacan.

The PGB likewise received the Green Banner Seal of Compliance, a prestigious distinction conferred to LGUs that demonstrate exemplary performance in the implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) through the unified efforts of the Provincial Nutrition Committee and the entire Provincial Government.

Also awarded with Nutrition Honor Award Retainer was the Municipality of Plaridel, further affirming its consistent excellence and sustainability of its local nutrition programs.

Meanwhile, Governor Daniel R. Fernando said that the Provincial Government will remain committed to sustaining and expanding its nutrition programs to reach more communities, particularly the most vulnerable sectors, as part of its vision of a healthier and stronger Bulacan.

“Layunin ng inyong lingkod na mas maraming komunidad ang makinabang sa ating nutrisyon programs. Sa panahon ng bagyo, mas kailangan nating maging malusog, dahil ang malusog na Bulacan ay matatag na Bulacan,” the governor stated.
