CITY OF MALOLOS – In direct response to the escalating challenges faced by local farmers, the Provincial Government of Bulacan, through the Provincial Agriculture Office, successfully held the Provincial Vegetable Congress 2025 yesterday at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center.
Under the theme, “Without Limits: Strengthening Production Market and Support System,” the landmark congress was specifically designed to empower Bulakenyo farmers by introducing them to a modern and sustainable approach to farming.
The primary goal is to strengthen the local vegetable industry by improving market linkages, promoting cutting-edge farming technologies, and fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration among the agricultural community.
The congress served as a venue for farmers, stakeholders, and agricultural experts to discuss issues and opportunities in Bulacan’s vegetable industry. Important topics were covered during the event including Vegetable Industry Situationer, Sagip Saka Program, Soil Less Farming, and Marketing of Agricultural Products.
It served as a vital platform for more than 500 attendees, comprising of local farmers, agricultural officers, and sector representatives from 17 municipalities and cities across Bulacan including Angat, Balagtas, City of Baliwag, Bocaue, Bustos, Calumpit, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Hagonoy, City of San Jose del Monte, Marilao, Norzagaray, Pandi, Plaridel, San Ildefonso, San Miguel, San Rafael, and Santa Maria.
The congress featured crucial topics directly relevant to enhancing farmers’ practices and profitability, including Vegetable Industry Situationer, Sagip Saka Program, Soil Less Farming, and Marketing of Agricultural Products.
In Governor Daniel R. Fernando’s message delivered by Crispin de Luna, Fernando expressed his pride in the farmers’ willingness to embrace new technologies and modern approach to farming practices supported by the government.
“Hinihikayat natin ang lahat ng magsasakang Bulakenyo na makilahok sa inisyatibo, forum, at mga kongreso tulad nito dahil dito nabubuo ang mga bagong ideya, ugnayan at oportunidad para sa mas maunlad na pagsasaka,” the governor said.
