The Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Planning Workshop for the 2nd District Municipalities of Lanao del Norte has successfully concluded, marking a significant step toward building smarter, more sustainable, and innovation-driven communities.
Held on June 9–10, 2026, at Kalimudan Hall, Pigcarangan, Tubod, the workshop brought together local government officials, planners, industry representatives, and community stakeholders with a shared mission: to develop the foundation of a Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Agenda—a living and actionable blueprint that will guide participating municipalities toward sustainable growth and inclusive development.
Over the two-day workshop, participants explored the importance of STI planning, drew inspiration from successful local innovations, mapped key stakeholders, crafted strategic visions, and identified measurable performance indicators. The insights, data, and collaborative outputs generated during the sessions will serve as the foundation of the STI Agenda, which is currently being developed through the collective expertise and active participation of all stakeholders.
Once finalized, the STI Agenda will guide the implementation of programs, projects, and services that will benefit households, farmers, entrepreneurs, and communities throughout the 2nd District. These initiatives will form part of the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) Smart and Sustainable Communities Program (SSCP).
To all municipalities of the 2nd District of Lanao del Norte that sent their representatives and actively participated in this undertaking, thank you for your commitment and dedication. Your presence and engagement reflect a shared vision for progress and a determination to create better opportunities for your communities.
The future of Lanao del Norte is being built—one STI Agenda at a time—and this journey begins with your collective commitment to innovation, sustainability, and inclusive development.
