QUIRINO — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a 1.68-kilometer access road leading to Maddela Eco-Park in the town of Maddela, Province of Quirino.
Citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 2 Director Loreta M. Malaluan, Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the P100-Million access road project covers the concrete cement paving of 1.68 kilometers of gravel road with 6.10-meter width and 0.28-meter thick carriageway, and provision of drainage, slope protection, and flood control structures within the site of the 30-lilneal meter bridge component.
“With Maddela Eco-Park being one of the most well-known tourist destinations in the Province of Quirino, this access road will surely help in boosting tourism activities and bolster additional sources of livelihood for locals by cutting 15 minutes of travel time as it links to the widened Dumabato-Balligui Road,” said Secretary Villar.
Other than Maddela Eco-Tourism Park, the adjacent Zamora Resort will also greatly benefit from this project.
The newly-completed access road which started in 2018 was constructed by DPWH in convergence with the Department of Tourism (DOT) under the Multi-Year Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP). (DPWH)
