SANTA ROSA, Nueva Ecija – Unidentified gunmen on board a motorcycle gunned down a 52-year-old local official in Barangay Inspector here Wednesday night.
The local police identified the victim as Emiliano Muncal, chairman of the barangay. Initial police probe showed that Muncal was about to park his motorcycle in front of his house when his attackers shot him several times at about 7:19 p.m.
The victim just came from the barangay hall. “After the incident, the suspects fled on board their motorcycle heading eastward to the Sta. Rosa-Tarlac Road” the police report said.
Muncal died of multiple gunshot wounds while being treated in a hospital in Cabanatuan City. Sta. Rosa Mayor Josefino Angeles condoled with the family of Muncal.
