June 12 Jobs Fair offers 150 job opportunities

The June 12 (Philippine Independence Day) Jobs Fair which made available nearly 150,000 domestic and overseas job opportunities was decidedly a GOOD JOB.

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) data said there were actually 149,102 employment opportunities in the country and abroad offered by 1,160 participating employers. Of the total figure, 111,351 were in the country the rest are overseas.

Topping the local work opportunities are production operators, customer service representatives, microfinance officers/loan officers, sewers/sewing mechanics, and masons/carpenters.

The top industries are manufacturing, business processing outsourcing, financial activities, and construction.

Aside from private companies, government offices participating in the job fairs include the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Philippine National Police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Philippine Statistics Authority, and the Iloilo Local Government Unit.

Job opportunities in the government sectors include jail officers, police officers, enforcement officers, chemists, researchers, lawyers, geologists, and revenue officers.

The top overseas job vacancies, on the other hand, include, nurses, factory workers, household service workers, carpenters, electricians/masons, and cleaners.

The top destinations are United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, United Kingdom, and Australia.

The Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in the City of Malolos served as the principal job fair site. The other sites are located in various regional centers nationwide.
