ILAGAN CITY, Isabela – The city government here has placed under granular lockdown 35 of its barangays for nine (9) days or until October 4 due to increased Covid-19 cases.
The order comes after a five-day respite from month-long lockdowns that have affected most villages in the city.
The Department of Health reported 125 active cases in the affected areas as of Friday but local officials are still waiting for the confirmatory test results.
Watchmen will be deployed to make sure those below 18 years and above 65, pregnant, and with comorbidities will stay home, but those purchasing essential goods or accessing essential services will be allowed to go out.
Curfew was set from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day, liquor ban is in effect, odd-even scheme for vehicles will be implemented, and market days are by schedule per cluster.
Affected by the lockdown are Alibagu, Guinatan, Calamagui 2nd, Baculod, Bliss Village, Bagumbayan, Baligatan, Osmena, Sta. Barbara, San Vicente, Centro Poblacion, San Felipe, San Ignacio, Cabisera 2, Cabisera 4, Alinguigan 1st, Fuyo, Salindingan, Namnama, San Juan, Cabannungan 2nd, Alinguigan 2nd, Centro San Antonio, Manaring, Calamagui 1st, Camunatan, San Isidro, Siffu, Naguilian Norte, Cabisera 3, Cabiseria 8, Aggasian, Marana 3rd, Naguilian Sur, and Cabisera 22.
“Prevalence of Covid-19 positive cases continues to increases, transmission is persisting, and contacts are reaching a significant and alarming number which directly affect the greater number of population in the said barangays,” the order unanimously approved by the City Inter-Agency Task Force and signed by Mayor Josemarie Diaz on Saturday stated.
